হোটেলে থালা-বাসন মাজতেন স্মৃতি ইরানি!

শ্রমের মর্যাদার উপর জোর দিতে গিয়ে ভারতের মানবসম্পদ উন্নয়মন্ত্রী স্মৃতি ইরানি বলেন তিনি ১৫ বছর পূর্বে মুম্বাইয়ের এক হোটেলে থালা-বাসন মাজতেন। রাজ্য শিক্ষা মন্ত্রীদের এক সম্মেলনে গত মঙ্গলবার তিনি এ তথ্য জানান।

দক্ষতার উপর প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদির গুরুত্বের কথা উল্লেখ করে তিনি বলেন প্লাম্বার কিংবা মেকানিক হলে কাউকে হীনন্মন্যতায় ভোগার কারণ নেই।

তিনি বলেন, ‘আপনি যদি একজন প্লাম্বার, মেকানিক কিংবা কার্পেন্টার হতে চান তাহলে তাতে লজ্জার কিছু নেই। একজন মন্ত্রী হয়ে আমি গর্ববোধ করি যে, আমি ১৫ বছর পূর্বে মুম্বাই এর এক হোটেলে থালা-বাসন মেজেছি।’

তিনি আরো বলেন, ‘আপনি যদি একটি দক্ষ ভারত চান তাহলে আপনাকে শ্রমের মর্যাদা দিতে হবে।’

Giving emphasis on the dignity of labor, the Human Resources Minister of India, Smriti Irani said she used to wash utensils in a hotel in Mumbai 15 years ago. She informed this in a conference of the eduction ministers of the states of India.

Mentioning the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's importance on skills, she said there is nothing to feel inferior to be a plumber or mechanic.

She also said, 'There is no shame if you are a plumber, mechanic or carpenter. Being a minister I feel proud that I used to was utensils in a hotel in Mumbai 15 years ago.'

She said, 'If you want a skilled India, you should give the dignity of labor.'
